Sachtler VIDEO 25 Plus Fluid Head (11-80 lb Payload)

The Video 25 Plus from Sachtler is unusually light for a Studio/OB head. With its 7-step, temperature-independent damping system, the Video 25 Plus displays an 18-step counterbalance that can be adjusted easily and safely in nine stages with the well-known Sachtler dial. Fine-tuning is achieved via a half-step function, which can either be engaged or disengaged. Tilt angles up to 90° are no trouble for the Video 25 Plus, even under maximum load. It includes the well-known features from Sachtler, such as the Touch & Go quick release system, self-illuminating touch bubble, and horizontal and vertical brakes conveniently located and easy to reach.

Frictionless Leakproof Fluid Damping with Seven Levels of Drag
A prerequisite for perfect pictures is a panning movement without jerks and vibrations. Sachtler’s patented damping system offers individual modules that are frictionless and contain no hydraulic oil. They are permanently leakproof. The damping action of heads is identical across both horizontal and vertical planes and offers you seven steps of drag, for smooth camerawork under the toughest of rough conditions. You can completely disengage the drag for fast panning without affecting the dynamic counterbalance system.
Touch & Go Quick Release / Automatic Locking System
With the Touch & Go system, the camera plate is secured to the camera while the mating balance plate is mounted on the fluid head. All you need to do is slip the camera into position, engage the mechanism, and the camera is locked firmly in place. When finished, just disengage the latch and go. When you set the camera up for the next shot, you have all the original settings. It also features a safety lock lever that prevents inadvertent disengagement of the camera latch.
Sliding Balance Plate
The sliding camera mount and plate with a 4.4″ (150mm ball base) or 3.9″ (flat base) sliding range allows you to compensate precisely for a variety of configuration weights, ensuring perfect balance across the horizontal plane. Most importantly, once adjusted, the settings cannot be lost.
18-Step Dynamic Counterbalancing System
Built with torsion springs, the dynamic counterbalancing system compensates for torques as the camera tilts, preventing the camera from inadvertently tipping and ensuring that it is positioned securely at any tilt angle, freeing you to concentrate fully on your camerawork. Its 18-step counterbalance allows adjustments in nine stages and fine-tunes by half-step function. It can be activated and deactivated individually. Independent from the damping system, they work silently and without the need for maintenance.
Safe at Any Temperature
Pressure or temperature does not influence the damping system. It has an operating range from
-40 to 140°F and works without friction. Shoot wherever you want, from torrid heat to cold climates.

Vibrationless vertical/horizontal brakes for maximum safety in fast-paced reporting situations.
Built-in illuminated bubble for horizontal leveling uses a conventional battery and ensures easy leveling, even under unfavorable lighting conditions.

For smooth single-operator camera moves, crab or standard steering, or 30.3″ in-shot height adjustment, the Sachtler Vario Ped 2-80 is your go-to camera support for cameras and rigs weighing up to 176 lb. Suitable for use on smooth surfaces and the studio floor, the pedestal can be used as support on exteriors and interiors. With its air inlet valve and an optional manual pump or compressed air tank, you can even use the pedestal in remote locations where power can be difficult to source.

Grab the included steering ring to move the pedestal from position to position for rapid camera placement, or change the height throughout the 30.3″ range. The pedestal supports both standard steering and crab movement, allowing you to create smooth tracking and dolly moves. Featuring two Perfect Balance stages, the entire 30.3″ height range has smooth vertical adjustment for in-shot camera moves. Narrow width allows you to move among tight spaces as well as through most doorways. The air inlet valve allows you to use an external pump to charge the pedestal, and the integrated pressure gauge lets you see the pressure remaining at a glance. The removable pedestal dolly has 5″ wheels and cable guards to help prevent you from rolling over a cable ruining the shot, and it is removable for easier transport and storage.

Balanced Operation
Calibrated and perfectly balanced to counter gravity, the 2-80 Vario pedestal allows operators to lift and lower mounted cameras, teleprompters, and other accessories. Ergonomically positioned controls reduce strain on your body for more comfort during long periods of use.

The 30.3″ height adjustment range makes it quick and easy to select the right camera height when filming seated or standing subjects.
Perfect Balance Stage
Featuring two Perfect Balance stages, you can smoothly adjust the height of the pedestal through a 30.3″ range while shooting without stops or bumps when adjusting the height. This allows the operator to create vertical camera movement without distracting the audience or to move from a seated to a standing position without jarring the camera.
Column Locks
Integrated column locks prevent the column height from shifting during moves.
Steering
The Vario Ped 2-80 and its included pedestal dolly support both standard and crab steering for smooth tracking moves without laying track, as well as free camera movement and positioning.
Wheels and Cable Guards
The 5″ wheels with integrated cable guards help provide smooth camera moves while the cable guards help prevent you from rolling over unattended cables, which can lead to jarring camera moves, needing to rebalance your camera setup, or damaged cables and gear.
Air Pressure
The 2-80 has an air inlet valve that lets you use optional pumps or a compressed air cylinder (not included) to replenish the pedestal’s pressure.
